This publication is being produced to accompany the exhibition of French Impressionism, which presents sixty paintings from the Ordrupgaard Museum in Denmark. The introductory section, consisting of texts about the collection itself, also provides an outline of the issues associated with Impressionism and its overlaps, as the exhibition itself includes other artworks, such as those representing the Barbizon school of painters. This is followed by the catalogue section, in which each work is reproduced and accompanied by a commentary including information about the artist.
